Merry Christmas

We wish you and everyone a merry Christmas – may Jesus Christ – the Light of the world – shine into your life and enable you to carry on His light in this world. ICFO will have a break, and the next worship meeting will be held on 8 January, and the Bible study later in January. (BF)

Unless a Grain of Wheat

On Sunday, 20 November 2011, we heard the sermon “Unless a Grain of Wheat” and reflected on Jesus’ words in John 12:20-26, which read at 24: “Unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds.” We came to know that Christ is the Seed that was promised to Abraham (Galatians 3:16), and that brings forth much fruit. Moreover, through the redemptive work of Jesus we may also die to our sinful self and be filled with new life. By Christ we are enabled to produce “fruit that lasts” (John 15:16) and to “live a life worthy of the Lord” (Colossians 1:10). If we remain, however, apart from Him, “we can do nothing” (John 15:4-5), and will be considered and treated by God as “chaff” (Psalm 1:4; Matthew 3:12). Feel free to download the sermon “Unless a Grain of Wheat” and use it for your Bible study and edification. (BF)

Home

On Sunday, 25 September 2011, we explored the topic and meaning of “Home“. Where do we seek and find our home? Is our home in houses, relationships with people etc.? The answer to this question is that only in God we can find our home. God makes His home in us through Jesus Christ. According to John 14:23: “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” Feel free to download the sermon “Home” and use it for your Bible study and edification. (BF)
