Welcome to take part in an International Afternoon, organised on Saturday 7.7. by the Oulu Pentecostal Church. It will start at 15:00 at Hietasaari, Oulu’s green island nearby Nallikari. The exact place, a ‘kota’ [sort of a tent made of wood], is located on the Auta Lasta association’s property (Mustasaarentie 7). It is going to be a picnic, so please bring your own stuff to eat ;-) Coffee and tea will be provided… There will be outdoor games and activities, singing and prayers. The Truth Event will take place in Oulu 8.8.-12.8.2007. In Finnish it is called Totuus-tapahtuma, and it’s arranged by various Christian denominations in Oulu via the E4-network. It’s main idea is to share the Gospel of Christ with people that don’t know yet Jesus as their Saviour.

It took the effort of many people, a lot of time and prayers, but on Sunday 10.6. it finally came true. Amos was officially ordained as a priest in a service in Oulu’s Cathedral. The service was held by the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Anglican Church. Bishops from both churches were present, and Amos was welcomed to follow his vocation, and serve the Sudanese Christians in Finland and Oulu. Amos will continue his ministry and work for the Lord also with other Christians, and, especially, bring the Gospel to people who haven’t yet heard of Jesus or have their struggles with Christ. Let’s hope and pray that God will continue using Amos as a truthful messenger of Christ. Here are some pictures of the ordination, published in the Kaleva, Oulu’s local newspaper. Yve invited everyone over to her new home in Oulunsalo (Porkkanakuja 9) for a poor-boy lunch on 10.6.2007, starting from 12:30.

This you won’t want to miss: On Friday, 15.6.2007, starting at 17:00 the Peedo’s invite everyone to their place for the TGiF-evening (Kylmäsentie 3, tel. 040 707 8816). Their flat is located in the north of Oulu, in the suburb called Pateniemi – it’s a nice bike trip ;-) Let’s meet up at 16:30 in front of St. Luke’s Chapel (Yliopistokatu 7) and cycle together… We’ll have a BBQ, fellowship and watch a Danish movie related to the Book of Job. Please bring something to eat (salad, grill food etc., and a good mood, of course ;-) After the film everyone is invited to share her/his views… Welcome!
